1.  Introduction

Welcome to Ulead PhotoImpact 7, the most versatile imaging solution for digital photographers, graphic artists, and Web page designers.

This powerful software supports today's most advanced scanners and digital cameras while providing a comprehensive set of editing tools for both beginners and power users. So whether you intend to output projects in print, disc, or online, PhotoImpact 7 can make your digital imaging tasks easier and more rewarding. It's a great tool to have around at home, in school or the office.

The Ulead PhotoImpact 7 Trial provides you all of the fuctionality of Ulead PhotoImpact 7 minus some frames, masks, material, textures, EasyPalette presets, Component Designer presets, and sample images. This trial version is distributed free-of-charge to all users, offering a FREE trial period of 30 days from the date of installation. Try out this program before the trial period expires because we will not be able to extend this FREE trial period. After the trial expires, you will need to uninstall the trial software from your computer.

Note: Ulead GIF Animator 5 and PhotoImpact Album 7 are not included in the trial version. You will get these two programs once you have purchased Ulead PhotoImpact 7.

2.  System Requirements

• Microsoft® Windows® 98, Windows® NT 4.0 SP 5 or higher, Windows® 2000, Windows® ME and Windows® XP
• Intel Pentium Processor or higher
• 64 MB of RAM
• CD-ROM drive
• Windows-compatible pointing device (i.e. mouse)
• True Color or HiColor display adapter and monitor
• 139 MB of available hard drive space
• Pressure sensitive graphics tablet (optional)

Note: Using PhotoImpact in 800x600 large font display mode is NOT RECOMMENDED, since the Attribute toolbar may not completely fit inside the program window and some toolbar buttons may not be visible.

3. Installing/Uninstalling Ulead PhotoImpact 7

• To install PhotoImpact 7, insert the PhotoImpact CD into your CD-ROM drive. Windows will detect the CD and automatically run the installation program. If it fails to do so, or if the automatic detection feature is off, use Windows Explorer to run the SETUP.EXE program directly from your CD-ROM drive.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
• To uninstall PhotoImpact 7, use Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 5

• An electronic copy of the PhotoImpact 7 User Guide is available in Adobe Acrobat format (Portable Document Format - PDF). To view this file, you must first install Adobe Acrobat Reader 5. To install, click Install Utilities in the installation menu and then select Install Acrobat Reader 5.

• After successfully installing the Acrobat Reader program, use the File: Open menu command in the program to open the UPI7-MANUAL.PDF file (located on the PhotoImpact CD). You will then be able to view the PhotoImpact 7 User Guide.

QuickTime 5

• GIF Animator 5 supports QuickTime Movie Files(*.mov; *.qt). If you would like to open or export video files in GIF Animator 5, you need to install QuickTime 5.

Adobe SVG Viewer 2

• PhotoImpact can export image as SVG file format (.svg). To read the SVG file correctly, you need to install the Adobe SVG Viewer 2 plug-in.

Internet Explorer 5.5

• Some web related features in PhotoImpact will only function when Microsoft Internet Explore is installed in your system. Ulead strongly recommends that you install Internet Explorer 5.5 or above to fully utilize PhotoImpact.

Ulead Technical Support is not available for the trial version of Ulead PhotoImpact 7. Additional information is available via our Web site: http://www.ulead.com/pi/. Full technical support is available for the retail version of Ulead PhotoImpact 7.
